Indianapolis-based TxJet to Celebrate Five Years, 2,000 Lives Saved and Two New Jets

INDIANAPOLIS – On January 11, 2019, TxJet (tee-X-jet), the 501(c)(3) aviation subsidiary of Indiana Donor Network, will celebrate five years of service and the delivery of two new state-of-the-art aircraft for the transportation of human organs for transplant. These aircraft are specially tailored for the transportation of human organs, transplant surgeons and clinical teams throughout the country.

Over the past five years, TxJet has delivered more than 2,000 lifesaving organs to transplant recipients in 39 states. Based in Indianapolis, the company started in January 2014 as a passion-fueled innovation to end the wait for organ transplants. At that time, Indiana Donor Network realized that more lives could be saved if donated organs could travel both faster and safer to patients waiting, advancing the donation process and reducing the critical time between recovery and transplantation.

“We are relentlessly focused on our mission to save and heal lives through donation and transplantation. TxJet is an important element in fulfilling our mission and these new aircraft will give us the continued ability to save lives here in Indiana and across the nation,” said Steve Johnson, Indiana Donor Network chief operating officer.

Media are invited to a celebratory open house on January 11, 2019, from 4:00 – 7:00 pm, at Hangar #6 at Indianapolis International Airport (6851 Pierson Drive, Indianapolis, IN). Attendees will be able to tour the new aircraft and meet Indiana Donor Network leaders, TxJet pilots and some of the first transplant recipients whose donated organs were transported by TxJet. A brief program will begin at 5:00 pm.
