Internationally-known Business Jet Broker Prepares for Third Decade
TETERBORO, NJ or LONDON, UK (October 9, 2011) – Freestream Aircraft Limited, one of the world’s preeminent preowned business jet brokers, marked its 20th anniversary with one of its most successful years in its history, completing more than 40 transactions valued at more than $700 million.
While economic conditions kept worldwide markets roiling in 2011, Freestream continued its 20 year history of matching business jet buyers and sellers around the world, bringing its corporate total to more than 700 completed transactions valued in excess of $13 billion.
Alireza Ittihadieh founded Freestream 1992 in London, after a successful career in merchant banking and foreign exchange trading. He recognized the coming shift in business aviation from a US-centric to a truly global industry, and brought his skills in cross-border sales sand acquisition transactions to the burgeoning international pre-owned aircraft market.
After 15 years of continued growth primarily in the Eastern Hemisphere, Alireza set his sights on building a strong presence in the US market. He brought experienced business jet sales executive Rebecca Posoli-Cilli on board to head Freestream’s new Western Hemisphere headquarters in Teterboro, NJ. The Embry-Riddle graduate has completed more than 375 transactions during her twenty years in corporate aviation, more that 100 of them under the Freestream banner.
In five years Posoli-Cilli built a highly efficient and effective US team to compliment Alireza’s seasoned London UK-based operation. The combined Freestream staff is fluent in seven (7) languages, enabling Freestream to complete trans-border transactions in virtually every corner of the world.
Over its twenty-year history Freestream found that many clients required more than just pre-owned aircraft sales and acquisition services, and the ability to negotiate and structure aircraft financing. Consequently it expanded its team and capabilities in order to meet those customer requirements, including new aircraft acquisition services, aircraft interior design and completion management, pre-purchase inspection oversight and air charter brokering.
